Interview with Chun Lung WTS basketball team

ISL has always been actively involved in and supporting Hong Kong’s sports industry. Since August 2024, our CEO Hilton has been sponsoring Chun Lung WTS basketball team. Chun Lung was led by the late former head coach of the Hong Kong Basketball Team - On Hing King（On Sir) since 2013 and coach Wong Chi MIng (Ming Sir) has taken over the leadership in 2021. The team members come from various industries, including full-time basketball coaches, fire fighters, customs, students, etc. Their average age is around 26 years old, making it a young team. Chun Lung’s overarching goal is to provide more opportunities for the young players, to help them grow, and to train outstanding players for the Hong Kong Basketball Team.
Chun Lung won the runner-up in B Division of the Hong Kong Basketball League in 2022, and won the championship in 2023 to be promoted to A Division. Although most of the Chun Lung players lack experience in the A Division, they are in high spirits. Their short-term goal is to reach the top six in the Hong Kong A1 Division Championship. Recalling their most impressive game was the last game of the 2023 league. They overcame many difficulties and won three wins in the semi-finals, successfully promoted to the first division. Their success not only fulfilled the late On Sir’s wish, but also continued the spirit of perseverance.
Ming Sir hopes to introduce more sports technology to help the industry develop, such as AI analyzing data to develop training plans, robots assisting players training, and VR simulation training, etc. He states that Hong Kong basketball players have tremendous potential. He hopes that the Hong Kong government can actively solve the problem of the short of training venues and make local basketball more professional and systematically managed in order to cultivate outstanding players
